Our first day in St. Petersburg was crazy. We got in really early, checked into our hotel room, slept for a few hours, had breakfast, switched hotel rooms (complication of rooms due to last-minute travel changes due to Moscow smoke) possibly slept some more - can’t remember, and finally made it out into the city.
We basically just took the metro to Nevsky and walked around taking pictures. At this point we had been in Russia for a few days, but really hadn’t had time to enjoy anything yet.
This is Church of Spilled Blood, aka Храм Спаса на Крови.
I just love how it looks like a typical European city street, and then there’s this crazy beautiful cathedral in the background.
