Passion For Russian

This is the hotel we stayed at in St. Petersburg this summer. After the smoke and heat of Moscow, going through the process of buying train tickets (my worst fear but I did it!), arriving in SPB at 4am (when all the bridges are up), and finally a crazy taxi ride to the hotel, we were so relieved to finally get here!!! 

But is it strange to anyone else that there is a giant Baltica sign, very large Samsung sign, medium sized St. Petersburg sign, and tiny hotel sign (if you can even see it)? Glad we didn’t have to find this on our own!

I am finally going to start posting photos from my Russia trip this summer. It’s much later than I intended to, but maybe the sunshiny pics will remind us all that it will be warm again.

I’ll start with one of my favorite things: English brands written in Cyrillic. I love how they still manage to force in the trademark arrows on the logo - even on the round ”C”.

This one is located on Nevsky Prospect, St. Petersburg. (And by the way - I didn’t eat there.)
